Outfitters deliver & install high quality closets and cabinetry in customer’s homes and businesses throughout the metro area year-round. In doing so, they work out of company-supplied vehicles. The work involves carrying bulky and often heavy objects through expensively decorated homes, assembling components into finished products, fitting them in place and around obstacles, and securing them to the building. Before completing a job, Outfitters are responsible for leaving the site cleaner than they found it, and collecting the balance of the money owed by the customer.
Outfitters report to our Hopkins shop in the morning, load their jobs, are out-and-about during the day, and return approximately mid-afternoon. Installations are pre-scheduled by the company for a specific date and time. Smaller installations are normally performed solo, while larger jobs often are assigned 2 or more Outfitters. When they’re not installing on site, they’re in our Hopkins shop preparing for upcoming installations and helping our Equipment Specialists build the products we install.
Power tools regularly used for the task include a circular saw, portable power planer, jig saw, belt sander, fiber-wheel chop saw, and cordless drill. In addition, various hand tools are required. Outfitters provide and use their own tools.
